Twelve members of Wallsend Rugby Club are planning to walk 65 miles around Keilder Forest this weekend, to raise money for Beacon Hill Special Needs School in Wallsend.
The walk will set off from the Calvert Trust on Friday 15th August and will finish in Wooler on Sunday 17th August, covering 25 peaks including Cheviot over the three day 65-mile course.

Wallsend RFC are currently in talks with North Tyneside Council to secure the use of the changing facilities and playing area at the Beacon Hill site.

Wallsend RFC Chairman Doug Pearson stated: “Hopefully the charity walk will raise over £5,000 for Beacon Hill School and will be the start of a long lasting relationship between the School and Wallsend Rugby Club.”

The walk has been organised by veteran walker and player Gavin Roger Robison with valuable sponsorship from Bodyfix Autos, Otis Lifts, Planet Platforms, Bell Lift Training and Luke Van Hire.

Anyone who would like to sponsor the walkers and help raise money for Beacon Hill School can do so by contacting Wallsend RFC on (0191) 265 9357.
