Newcastle Falcons Conference and Events team are in contention for a host of awards this June, after receiving a total of five nominations at this year’s prestigious Stadium Events & Hospitality Awards.

Held at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, the awards recognise the efforts and dedication shown by the catering, conference and events teams at every football and rugby stadium across the UK.

In this year’s awards, the Kingston Park team find themselves competing to be named the country’s best Match Day Hospitality experience, both overall and in the small stadium category, in addition to nominations in the Non Matchday Mystery Shopper and Operations Team of the Year categories.

Further to the nominations for the overall team, Assistant Conference & Events Manager Melissa Mallen has seen her efforts recognised as she is put forward for the Star of the Future award, which aims to recognise individuals who shine in their work.

Conference & Events Director Jane Shepstone said: “We’re thrilled to receive nominations in the five award categories in these prestigious awards. The nominees are drawn from the events teams at football and rugby stadiums across the country, so to make the shortlist in itself is a real honour.

“My team work incredibly hard across the year to delight our guests and I really hope that this has earned them the awards for a second time in three years.”

Stadium Experience Chair Person Collette Salmon, from Liverpool Football Club, commented: “Our teams take it to the limits each year and this is a time to recognise all of them who strive to bring excellence in their venues across the UK. Congratulations and best of luck to all of this year’s award nominees – We look forward to announcing the results on 2nd June 2016!”
