Supporters Club
Be a part of the Falcons Supporters Club
The Supporters Club is a completely independent group and has been in existence for 15 years. All decisions relating to the Supporters Club are made by an elected committee (who are all volunteers) or the membership as a whole by way of EGM. The Falcons Supporters Club is run by the supporters for the supporters.
The original purpose of the Supporters Club was to get Falcons supporters to away games. This has continued over the years, but the Supporters Club has changed in so many ways, especially over the past seasons, and now also provides fun, social events, and runs throughout the year, rather than on a season basis.
Membership
Adult membership for the Supporters Club is £5 per year (and runs 1 August through to 31 July). Family membership is available which includes 2 adults and 2 children (under 16yrs) living at the same address for £10. Join and pay online for your membership at www.newcastlefalconssupportersclub.co.uk
NB: Anyone who renews their membership or joins the Supporters Club before 31 August 2011, will be put into a draw to win a signed Newcastle Falcons shirt, which will be presented to the lucky winner after the first home game of the season against Bath, on 3 September. Joining online is easy by using our online booking service at www.newcastlefalconssupportersclub.co.uk
Away Travel
We took supporters coaches to all Premiership away games and gave travelers the opportunity to enjoy subsidized travel, the opportunity to buy 4 and get their 5th trip free, in addition to providing breakfast and lunch goody bags, organizing raffles, playing games and holding quizzes on the buses for some fabulous and exclusive prizes. We also have had non-playing players, staff, and players' family and friends travelling on our coaches, so they too can experience what the supporters get up to when they go to see their team play.
The fun away day experience has actually seen an increase in travellers so we know there are people out there interested in what we do, but there are obviously supporters who may not be fully aware of what the Supporters Club is all about, and hopefully after reading this, will want to be a part of the Supporters Club.
We did an overnight package when we played Exeter, which was well attended and enjoyed by everyone, giving us the opportunity to see the newcomers to the Premiership in action at their home ground, and then having the chance to stay overnight and see some of what Exeter had to offer - extremely friendly people, pubs and great banter before, during and after the game. We try to have at least one overnight travel experience per season.
Being a member gives everyone the opportunity to travel to away games at value for money prices, enjoy varied social events, meet the players/coaches and staff who do their utmost to attend and accommodate any request we ask of them to come along and meet the Supporters Club members. Why not have the chance to have your picture taken with your favourite player, get a chance to mingle with them in a social environment, or ask them a question you've always wanted to know. With the opportunity to win match tickets, places at the Big Bash and other gatherings, and lots of signed Falcons merchandise, why not join up and be a part of this exciting, fresh thinking, proactive Supporters Club. We travel further than any other Premiership Club on a weekly basis, our commitment is solid, and so are the friendships that are forged through being a part of this fantastic Supporters Club.

European Travel
The Supporters Club consistently takes a contingent of supporters to our European games, having visited Bourgoin, Exeter and the beautiful Montpellier last season. There were around 40 supporters travelling, and if you have never been to a European away game, it really is a must attend weekend at some point during the season. Great camaraderie, lovely little places you would never dream of visiting, but always glad that you did. As a Supporters Club member everyone get the best deal available on flights and hotels to any European game and the Supporters Club can sort all of that out for you. Sometimes we are lucky enough to get free tickets and have a drink with the players after the game, if we can still stand. My first European game was to Perpignan in France, and after experiencing that, I was completely hooked!
Socials
We try to hold talk-ins every season as they are extremely popular. Last season, the Supporters Club held four exclusive talk-ins (which are free to Supporters Club Members) with new players, team captain, coaching staff and management, and we also held four social events which were varied to say the least - an 80's themed disco night with retro games and sweets, a picnic on the beach with touch rugby included, a Christmas party and an End of Season Awards night - the last event of which benefited Micky Ward's testimonial fund. During the summer months we held a fabulous comedy evening, which we hope to repeat later on in the season. All of these events were extremely well attended, however we are always looking for new members to join and you will be made most welcome by everyone, whether you join alone, with some friends, or with your family.
Sponsoring Players
Last season we sponsored Grant Shiells and Luke Fielden. At the Big Bash, the Supporter Club received signed, framed shirts from both Grant and Luke (photo).
We continue to sponsor players, either first team or academy and in turn, the players support us.
Awards
At the end of last season, I was honoured and so proud to receive on behalf of the Supporters Club the "Clubman of the Season Award 2011" voted for by the Newcastle Falcons, every one of the players and management staff appreciating the time and effort the Supporters Club put in to following their team around the country and in Europe. Our second award came during the summer, as the Supporters Club Touch Rugby Team excelled to top their group and take the prestigious trophy. We will need a cabinet soon if this keeps up!
There is always something happening at the Supporters Club, so if you would like to be a part of that, join us at www.newcastlefalconssupportersclub.co.uk
Committee members are available in the West stand before and after home game at the Supporters Club table. If you have any questions, I can be found in the ticket office pre-match at Kingston Park, or drop me an email
