Falcons Hit By Tag Fever

Newcastle Falcons are welcoming over 570 youngsters on Sunday, as Kingston Park hosts its biggest ever tag rugby competition.

A total of 57 teams from as far afield as Carlisle, Hartlepool, Penrith and Morpeth will be taking part in the day's festivities.

Starting at 11am on Sunday, the Under-7s and Under-8s tournament was planned as an official world record attempt, beating the previous biggest total of 480.

Despite an American tag festival smashing that record in the past few weeks, the day will still see the Falcons showing their commitment to local rugby.

The Under-7s and Under-8s final will take place on the first team pitch at half time in Sunday's Falcons v Bath Premiership game, which kicks off at 3pm.

The North Terrace is now completely sold out as a result of extra support received from parents, coaches and participants.

Teams are reminded to arrive at the West Stand pitch at 10:45am.

Parking can be purchased for the club car park for £8 by calling 0871 226 6060.

With over 800 people expected on the morning, teams are reminded to arrive as early as possible to ensure the festival can begin on time and to avoid traffic congestion.

Match tickets for the Falcons v Bath game can still be purchased by calling 0871 226 60 60, or from Kingston Park on the day.
