Newcastle Falcons have been drawn against London Wasps in the opening round of the Middlesex Sevens, which takes place at Twickenham on Saturday August 14.
The Falcons take on their fellow Aviva Premiership Rugby side as the competition reverts to a straight knock-out tournament, with Newcastle having already triumphed last week in the Leicester leg of the JP Morgan Asset Management Premiership Rugby 7s.Eight of the 12 Premiership sides will take part in the Twickenham event, with the Falcons joined by London Irish, Leicester, Exeter, Wasps, Saracens, Leeds and Harlequins.
Spice is added with the inclusion of a further eight invited sides, including the national teams of England, Kenya, Scotland and Sevens World Cup holders Wales.
Former champions the British Army are again involved, while invitational Sevens sides HFW Wailers, URL Samurai International and White Hart Marauders are also on show.
