Newcastle Falcons stars Micky Young and Ollie Phillips helped England through to the final of the IRB Sevens in Dubai on Saturday.

In the end the English fell by just one try to South Africa in the final, losing out 19-12 in front of a crowd of 50,000 with Young among the England try scorers.

Both Young and captain Phillips were instrumental as England claimed the notable scalps of Sevens powerhouses Fiji and New Zealand en-route to the final, Young among the scorers in the 28-5 victory over Fiji while Phillips scored and skippered the side past New Zealand in a 21-19 semi-final triumph.
