Falcons Junior Academy player Guy Van Den Dries has been selected for the England under-18s 'club and school' squad following the divisional festival at Broadstreet RFC over the weekend.

The Barnard Castle No.8 was one of several North East based players involved in the North of England squad having represented Durham County before Christmas.

A total of nine players from the region have represented the North this year, including Gosforth Academy AASE Scheme students Peter Weightman and Nathan Bailey.

Van Den Dries will now trial for England where he will be vying for a place in Northumberland Rugby development officer Dave Reed’s team to face Ireland on 14 April at Old Merchant Taylors RFC.

The Falcons Development Team are in action on Monday 27 February against Durham University at Hollow Drift (kick-off 7pm).
