Falcons stars Jimmy Gopperth, James Hudson and Jeremy Manning will go head-to-head with Newcastle United trio Steve Harper, Steven Taylor and Dan Gosling in the upcoming Question Tyne fundraising event.
Question Tyne is a 'Question of Sport' style quiz, which will take place at the Sports Direct Arena on Wednesday, 22 February, raising money for Newcastle United Foundation, Newcastle Falcons Community Foundation and Durham County Cricket Club Foundation.
All three charities use the local love of sport to make a real difference to young peoples' lives across the North East.
On the evening, Newcastle United, Newcastle Falcons and Durham County Cricket Club will be competing for the title of North-East sports quiz champions while also raising vital funds.
Representing the football club will be goalkeeper Harper, centre-back Taylor and midfielder Gosling.
Ruel Braithwaite, Liam Plunkett and Ben Stokes will take to the stage to represent Durham County Cricket Club while rugby stars Jimmy Gopperth, James Hudson and Jeremy Manning will head up the Falcons team.
The Foundation is also pleased to announce that Port of Tyne will join law firm Ward Hadaway and marketing agency NB Group as an event partner.
Susan Wear, director of corporate affairs at the Port of Tyne, said: “The Port of Tyne aims to help local communities in its operating area, and we are especially pleased to be able to support an event that will raise funds for the work of the Foundations in helping young people improve their chances in education and work in the future.”
In addition to the sports quiz, the evening will include a drinks reception and a three-course meal, plus a raffle and auction with some amazing prizes up for grabs.
A few tables of ten are still available for £500, and individual tickets can be bought for £50 each.
