All attention now turns to this Friday’s Aviva Premiership clash at home to Sale Sharks, with Falcons prop Jonny Golding appealing to fans to snap up their match tickets and get behind the team.
Speaking at Sixways Stadium following the battle with Worcester Warriors, Golding, 29, told Falcons TV: “We are a resilient bunch and everyone is looking forward to getting back out at Kingston Park in front of our home fans and we want to put things right.
“We know what we have to do and we have to win every game that we play in between now and the end of the season.
“We will go out there next week at Kingston Park against a good Sale side and pitch up.”
The northeasterner, who has represented England Saxons cut a frustrated figure after the 19-9 defeat at Worcester.
Golding said: “The boys are massively disappointed and we put a huge effort in during the first-half but we as players need to take responsibility for what happened out there in the second-half.
“It is massively frustrating because we worked hard but we let it all go to waste in the second-half. We went from being in a great position to win the game to not even picking up a bonus point.”
And Golding had this message for fans: “Go out there and buy your tickets as the boys are raring to go and we want to repay you for your good support and we owe it to you.
“From a players point of view we are going to give it 100% for our area and the club that we love – we are going to put up a fight and our season is by no means over.”
