MATCH DAY TRAVEL ADVICE

Supporters travelling to Saturday’s match at Welford Road are advised of possible disruption in the city centre.

Marches by the English Defence League and also by Leicester Unite Against Fascism are being staged in the city and, although the routes do not affect the immediate vicinity of Welford Road stadium, supporters are advised there is likely to be some transport disruption and are recommended to find alternative routes.

The proposed EDL route begins and ends at St Margaret’s Way next to Abbey Park, and includes Burley’s Way, Belgrave Gate and Churchgate.

The LUAF route is based on Pocklington’s Walk, Horsefair Street, Halford Street, Charles Street, Rutland Street and Belvoir Street.

The marches are expected to pass through the city from 12.30pm until 2pm and any rally must be concluded by 4pm.

The city centre, and bus and railway stations, are likely to be more crowded than usual and Police advise that some bus routes may need to be temporarily diverted.

Please allow extra time for your journey if you approach the march routes, or use alternative routes this weekend.

Tigers supporter buses from Oakham, Market Harborough and Nuneaton/Hinckley are in operation this Saturday, dropping off and picking up just outside the stadium.

Supporter matchday car-parking is available at the King Power Stadium, home of Leicester City, priced £5. Book via the Tigers ticket office or online.
