Matt Thompson
Part of the 2007 England Saxons Churchill Cup-winning squad, academy product Thompson has risen through the ranks at Kingston Park.
A former pupil of Royal Grammar School in the city, Newcastle Falcons runs in the family, as father Dave is the club's Chairman.
Thompson made his Falcons first team debut in 2002, having come through the club's Academy.
In the summer of 2006 he attended the International Rugby academy of New Zealand, returning in time for the 2006/07 campaign in which he earned his first Saxons recognition.
In 2011, Thompson signed a contract extension with the club during a season in which the hooker enjoyed some excellent form.
