Will Welch

Welch joined the Falcons' first team squad in the summer of 2009, having come through the club's academy.

Making his first team debut in 2008 against Newport Gwent Dragons in the Anglo/Welsh Cup, the openside signed senior forms at the end of that campaign.

A former RGS pupil, Welch has represented England at both Under-18s, 19s and 20s levels.

The 2009-10 season saw Welch make a total of 20 first team appearances, scoring a try in the home European win over Albi.

Welch signed a contract extension in 2011, with the Geordie set to have a bright future in the game.
