Falcons Community hosted another of their U7s and U8s match-day festivals at Kingston Park ahead of the club’s Gallagher Premiership fixture against Northampton Saints on Sunday, October 29, helping support community rugby in the North East.

Falcons Community was delighted to welcome over 55 teams and over 500 participants from grassroots rugby clubs from across Northumberland, Durham, North Yorkshire, and Cumbria to Kingston Park to take part in the festival.

It was fantastic spectacle of rugby and it was great seeing the members of the Falcons’ squad, along with Flash the Falcon on the rugby field for Q&As, photos and much more.

Team manager from Hartlepool RFC, said: “Thanks, everyone, for an amazing day. Well organised and some great rugby played by all teams”

Percy Park RFC’s team manager added: “The Percy Park boys and girls loved it, thank you for organising a great event.”

Running match-day festivals are crucial to all grassroots clubs allowing players to develop their skills, build belonging within the community and raise involvement in the sport and at grassroots clubs.

The festival was then followed by the Junior Falcons Halloween party where all members got to show off their spooky costumes. There were a range of games and activities played with the first-team players including a mummy race, mini golf, and video games.

Our next match-day festival will take place on Sunday, November 12 ahead of the Newcastle Falcons’ Gallagher Premiership clash with current champions Saracens, where we will welcome teams from across the North East to take part in the U13s festival.
