An update from Newcastle Falcons

Tuesday 07 July 2020 Written by: Adam

The club appreciates the patience and understanding of our fantastic supporters during a period in which we have been unable to communicate via our official club channels due to staff being on furlough as part of the government’s Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme.

A very small number of our staff are now gradually being brought back on a part-time basis to re-establish the lines of communication via the club website and social media channels, with the on and off-field teams looking forward to a tremendously exciting future following our return to the top flight.

**RUGBY**

Having last played on March 13, Newcastle Falcons have been named as Greene King IPA Championship title winners for 2019/20 and have accordingly been promoted into the Gallagher Premiership for the 2020/21 season.

The Gallagher Premiership’s 2019/20 season is due to resume on August 14, and will play to a conclusion without Newcastle Falcons taking part.

The 2020/21 Gallagher Premiership will then commence with the Falcons included, with an anticipated start date towards the end of 2020.

While we await confirmation of the 2020/21 start date and season structure there is currently no confirmed date for the resumption of formal training or for pre-season fixtures, but updates will be forthcoming once this information becomes available.

**TICKETS, HOSPITALITY AND RETAIL**

Newcastle Falcons’ club shop and ticket office are currently closed, although the club hopes to resume some retail operations in the near future. Details of this will be confirmed shortly.

Supporters with tickets or hospitality bookings for cancelled games during the 2019-20 season (including season ticket memberships) have the option to accept a credit note to be used for the 2020-21 campaign, to donate the amount to the Newcastle Rugby Foundation or to contribute towards player sponsorship.

The club wishes to thank the incredible generosity of those supporters who have been able to keep their money in the club during this extremely challenging time, whilst understanding that not everybody is in a position to do so.

Those supporters who wish to receive a refund will be able to begin this process once ticket office staff return to work.

Supporters with tickets or hospitality bookings for cancelled games (including season ticket members) will be sent an email to allow us to understand your preference. There will be an extended deadline for supporters to use any credits to allow you to make an informed decision, which will be detailed in the communications we send to you. There is no need to get in touch with us at this moment in time, although specific ticketing queries can be directed to **tickets2@newcastle-falcons.co.uk** .

**STADIUM**

Kingston Park Stadium is currently closed to the general public, although plans for a phased opening of the conference and events function rooms will be outlined in the near future.

**THANK YOU**

Newcastle Falcons would like to thank all of our supporters for their patience, understanding and continued backing during these unprecedented circumstances.

We look forward to issuing further updates as information becomes available, but, for the meantime, please stay safe and keep following government advice.
