AVIVA PROGRAMME RUNNING IN SCHOOLS AROUND THE REGION

The schools have received five weeks of coaching culminating in a festival of all youngsters involved in the programme. There have also been teacher education sessions, as well as the provision of kit in order to allow the schools to maintain the teaching of tag rugby after the Foundation coaches have completed the programme. The schools participating in the Aviva Premiership Rugby Schools programme include Abbey Primary, St. Augustin’s, Hurworth, Mowden Primary and Firthmoor School.

The programme aims to increase participation and give a pathway for budding young players to get involved with local rugby clubs. A festival with the schools has been held at Darlington Mowden Park this week and we would like to congratulate all of those involved!

The programme will be heading to the Consett area after the Easter break to deliver this programme to five other schools.
