AVIVA TAG RUGBY PROGRAMME FESTIVAL AT CONSETT RFC
The Aviva programme aims to increase youth participation in local clubs through involvement in tag rugby during school time. The programme is aimed at school year 4 age group and hopes to encourage new starters in rugby and sport in general.
Tag rugby is used to develop core skills of the players as well as fitness and agility, hoping to enhance the enthusiasm for the game!
The schools involved were Leadgate Juniors, Castleside Primary, The Grove, Consett Juniors and Benfieldside.
Leadgate Juniors fought off stiff competition to be victorious at this festival but all played to a great standard on an extremely warm day.
