Wilson helped the Falcons to a 20-year-high league finish of fourth during the 2017-18 campaign, touring with England in the summer and going on to be an ever-present during their autumn and Six Nations campaigns.

Falcons great Doddie Weir won the Wilkinson Sword for Lifetime Achievement, the charismatic Scot currently raising millions for research into Motor Neurone Disease following his diagnosis of the currently-incurable condition.

Falcons academy prop Oscar Caudle, meanwhile, was named among the winners of ‘Rising Star’ awards.
