Barclays provide Foundation with Big One support
The Falcons Community Foundation have been handed a big boost for the Big One as the charity and Barclays launch an official partnership for the event.
For the game, which sees Newcastle Falcons take on Northampton Saints in Aviva Premiership Rugby at the St James’ Park home of Newcastle United, the partnership will see the Foundation’s regular fundraising efforts bolstered with support from the bank.
Barclays has agreed to match £ for £ the amount raised by the Foundation Flutter which goes into the Falcons own charity’s funds and allows them to continue their good work in the local community.
It will also assist with the development of two learning spaces at Kingston Park Stadium that will further enhance the experiences enjoyed by young people that the Foundation works with.
Ensuring as many fans as possible are able to purchase Foundation Flutter tickets as possible, over 20 Barclays volunteers will be supplementing the ranks of the Falcons regular sellers on the day of the game.
Offering fans the chance to win the Man of the Match shirt from the game and corporate hospitality to a future Falcons fixture, the Foundation Flutter allows fans to support grassroots work through the chance to win these superb prizes.
Shaping up to be the biggest home game in the club’s history, over 7000 spectators from community groups, rugby club’s and schools will be in attendance as a result of contact and engagement with the Foundation and its programmes.
The Newcastle Rugby Foundation aims to educate, motivate and inspire via the power of sport across the North East and Cumbria. Having contact with over 15000 people per season.

“The Big One is about the rugby community new and old coming together to celebrate the sport and it’s valued. In addition to this celebration, we wanted to ensure a lasting impact was achieved for the wider community including those in underprivileged backgrounds.
“By pledging their support to the Foundation Flutter, Barclays will allow the Foundation to raise in excess of £15,000 which will go a long way to help us to continue to provide activities for those who otherwise couldn’t afford to.”
