Newcastle Falcons’ forwards Eduardo Bello and Pedro Rubiolo played pivotal roles in Argentina’s thrilling 38-30 victory over New Zealand at the weekend.

The victory saw Los Pumas kick-start their Rugby Championship campaign in the best possible fashion.

The Falcons pair both started the fixture with Bello delivering a robust 47-minute performance at loose-head prop and Rubiolo impressing in the second row before being replaced on 64 minutes, contributing significantly to the historic win.

The fixture marked the most points New Zealand has ever conceded at home and both sides are set to face each other again on 17 August in Auckland.
