‘Big One’ ticket sales pass 6,500
The 5.30pm Aviva Premiership kick-off is preceded by a 3pm encounter between Newcastle University and Northumbria University, with adult tickets starting from just £10 and juniors from £5.
Season ticket members are entitled to a free ticket and to discounted extra East Stand tickets, while there has also been unprecedented interest in the range of hospitality packages announced for the day.

Newcastle Falcons have also seen very strong sales for the Aviva Premiership visit of Harlequins to Kingston Park Stadium on Saturday December 23 (kick-off 3pm).
Sales levels are already stronger than they were for the visit of Leicester Tigers earlier this season, a game which was the club’s first sell-out crowd in more than nine years.
The Harlequins match is on target to be the second sell-out of the season with limited seating remaining.
