Bring the Noise 2 – bigger and noisier than before!
As Newcastle Falcons prepare to take on Wasps in an Aviva Premiership game being billed as Bring the Noise 2, the club is pleased to report a surge in ticket demand.
Ticket sales for the match, which kicks off at 7.45pm this Friday (20th February) are almost 45% ahead of sales for the Falcons’ first Bring the Noise game against Gloucester last November.
And with the crowd for this game expected to be significantly larger, the club is predicted that fans will also smash their own record for the world’s loudest club rugby crowd.
The record was set by Falcons fans earlier this season at 118 decibels. So what is the club expecting from fans this coming Friday?
– 120 dB: A rise of only two decibels would be the same volume (but a much more bearable pitch!) as a vuvuzela horn one metre away
– 15dB: The same volume as a jet engine 30 metres away
– 165dB: The acoustic level of rocket launch testers
– 171dB: If the crowd volume were to increase in line with ticket sales, the Kingston Park faithful would register 171 decibels; the same volume as a rifle being fired one
meeting from the ear.
The challenge is on, can the Kingston Park fan base not only top their own record but smash it completely? Over to you…
Join us on Friday and be sure to bring your thunder sticks, drums, whistles, horns and vuvuzelas; maybe bring some ear plugs too. But most of all, be sure to Bring the Noise!
Tickets for Friday’s game are available to purchase now [online][1], in person from the Kingston Park Box Office or by calling the Falcons’ 24 hour Ticket Hotline on 0871 226 6060, starting from only £15 for adults or £7.50 for juniors.
And remember, the party atmosphere goes on long after the final whistle with live entertainment from the North East’s number one Elvis impersonator Mike Memphis in the West Stand bar straight after the game and then the club’s official after party at Shark Bar Newcastle after the game.
