Camps set to provide summer fun
The summer holidays can be a long time to last without rugby, so the Falcons are pushing the boat out with an array of summer camps across the region in July and August.
Tailored to suit those simply looking for ways to have fun and stay active over the summer and the more focused young rugby player, sessions will take place across the region and provide a wide range of experiences.
Kicking things off are a pair of five day camps at Kingston Park Stadium, with an Under 6 – Under 11 offering from July 24 – 28 and an Under 12s – Under 14s camp following from July 31 – Aug 4, with each of these camps looking at all aspects of rugby dependent on the participants age.
Also starting on July 24 is a two day camp at Keswick RFC for budding stars aged aged six – 14 years in the North West.
Later in the summer is the annual residential camp at Barnard Castle School, for which only a limited number of places remain, while as the season draws closer, camps focusing on specific skills for forwards and backs will run at the end of August.
Cumbrian based youngsters will have a further opportunity to join in with Kendal RFC, the former club of the latest international Falcon Mark Wilson, while those in the South of the region can attend the camp hosted by West Hartlepool. Both of these satellite courses will run on August 28 and 29.
An exciting addition to the programme this year comes in the shape of a specialist kicking clinic on September 1, which will provide a perfect camp for any aspiring Toby Flood’s, while a new feature for Kingston Park courses will be the addition of a pre camp breakfast club. Further details of which will be confirmed in the next week.
With prices starting from £25 for a day, the coaching camps offer a fun and safe environment for youngsters to get up and get active over the summer, with all activities delivered by fully qualifies and DBS cleared coaches.
