CATTERICK GUNNING FOR PIRATES
The talented full-back, 22, scored twice and made two during Friday night’s clash with the West Midlands club.
Now Darlington-born Catterick has his sights set on toppling the Pirates as the Falcons look to make it 16 wins out of 16 in the RFU Championship.
> Cornish Pirates are going to come up here, like every other team, and
> try to knock us over,
“They are capable of doing it if we don’t sort our territory game out,” he added.
The Falcons defeated the Pirates 25-3 when the two sides locked horns at the Mennaye Field back in September.
Played in gale-force winds, the northeasterners took the spoils with Catterick getting on the score-sheet by virtue of a try from the back of the scrum.
“I am probably the only back to have scored a try from a rolling maul! Some of the tight five weren’t too happy about it, but all joking aside Cornish Pirates are a good team and will be a tough game here on Saturday,” said Catterick.

Impressing the Kingston Park hierarchy with a brace of tries and a string of scintillating line-breaks, it is fair to say that Catterick is enjoying his rugby at present.
Paying tribute to head coach Peter Russell, Catterick said: “Our head coach Peter Russell said to me during the week to just play my natural game and that has helped.
“It has given me the confidence not to try and force too many things.
“I like running with the ball, getting it with a bit of time and space.
“Having played fly-half for a fair bit of my career means I have the kicking options when I need them, but first and foremost most of our back three will tell you we want to attack teams and run with the ball as much as we can.
“Also, the pitch was a lot better, which suits my game, and it is hard to accelerate when you get a wet, muddy field like we have had a few times recently due to the weather.
“That helped me a lot and the fact the boys seem more confident in me now at the back has given me a real boost.”
