CATTERICK READY FOR WELSH TEST
The Falcons nailed on their place in the knock-out stages of the competition with a 16-6 victory over Connacht Eagles last weekend. And Catterick, who hails from Darlington insists his side must improve going into the business end of the season.
“You have to credit Connacht for defending really well, and they were physical right throughout the game,” said Catterick.
“Having said that, though, we know we can do a lot better and it needs to be sorted out. For us it was more about our game control,” added Catterick.
Expecting a tough encounter against the Welsh part-timers, Catterick said: “I’m sure the home crowd will be getting right behind them like the Welsh tend to do in those games.

> the opposition and we have to really buckle down”
After a tentative display against the Eagles, the Falcons have the chance to put things right and extend their winning streak to 19 games in all competitions.
“We have to realise that for all we want to play exciting rugby, we have to play in the right areas,” said Catterick.
“We have shown at times this season that when we play good rugby we have the skills to break down defences, but when the weather is like we have at the moment you can’t run it out from your own 22,” added the utility back.
