Challenge Cup draw sets Russian standard
Newcastle Falcons will break new ground in European rugby in the 2015/16 season after being drawn in a pool containing Russian tournament newcomers Enisei-STM.
Taking place in the Swiss town of Neuchatel, the draw saw the Falcons and 19 other clubs placed into the five pools for the initial rounds, which will get underway in the autumn.
Drawn as part of the third tier clubs, the Falcons were placed into pool one by former France scrum half Dimitri Yachvili alongside familiar French rivals Brive, and former Falcon Pat Lam’s Connacht, who boast former All Black Mils Muliaina in their ranks.
With one place left, it was Enisei that was matched with the pool one ball, giving the Falcons another adventure to the East after last year’s visit to the Romanian city of Cluj Napoca.
Details of the dates and times of the games will follow shortly, along with further reaction to the draw from Falcons Director of Rugby Dean Richards.
All three of the Falcons home European Rugby Challenge Cup are included in the 2015/16 Season Ticket Memberships, which are on sale now.
Prices start from £204 for adult standing and from £312 for adult seating and can be booked by calling 0871 2266060 or by [clicking here][1].
