Civetta called into USA elite training squad
The 25-year-old was a summer signing from Italian club I Medicei and, although he has not been capped yet at full test level, the 6 foot 6 forward has represented the ‘USA Select XV’.
Civetta now forms part of a 50-man training squad ahead of the Eagles’ November schedule, which includes a match against New Zealand’s Maori All Blacks in Chicago on November 4.
Meanwhile, having last week played for Ohio in the final of America’s first ever Pro Rugby competition, centre Dom Waldouck has arrived on Tyneside to commence his month’s trial with the Falcons.
The former England Saxons centre met his new squad-mates for the first time on Wednesday and is in contention for selection for Saturday’s pre-season opener against Nottingham.
