CLUB STATEMENT
Upon realising the error, the club immediately notified the RFU of the breach of regulations having fielded James Goode against Newport on Saturday 8th December 2012.
Goode, unbeknown to the Falcons, was ‘cup tied’ having already participated in the competition, representing Neath earlier in the season.
The points deduction leaves Newcastle with 18 points at the top of Pool 4.
The club will not be appealing the decision.
