College Rugby Union taster day – June 25

Thursday 14 June 2018 Written by: Adam

Year 11 leavers can look to take their first steps on a career in rugby this September, with the Falcons Community Foundation currently recruiting students to join its College Rugby Union programme for the forthcoming academic year.

Ran in conjunction with Tyne Met College for students aged 16+ and based at Kingston Park Stadium, the programme combines practical rugby sessions and fixtures against other North East Colleges with a BTEC Level 3 qualification in Sport Studies.

A great opportunity for club players to further their development, students will also have the opportunity to achieve coaching and refereeing qualifications alongside volunteering with the Falcons Community Foundation amongst other fantastic benefits.

And ahead of enrolling onto the course, potential students are invited to a taster session at Kingston Park Stadium on Monday 25th June.

Starting from 17:45 and completing at 19:30 (approx), the evening will give a sample of both the classroom and rugby sessions students will experience as part of the course.
