Colm Morgan funeral details

The funeral will start at 12 noon, with attendees invited for drinks and a buffet at Percy Park RFC after the service.

A familiar and popular presence at the club for many decades, Colm ran the Social Committee before becoming a Vice-President and member of the Board of Management following the move to Kingston Park in 1990.

He served two memorable years as President, the first which saw the team claim the 2nd Division Championship and promotion in 1993, followed by the challenging and short-lived period in the top division.

Following the takeover of the club by Sir John Hall in 1995 he served as Chair of the Newcastle Gosforth Shareholders Association – the so-called ‘Twenty Four Per Centers’ as the rump of the old club took a 24% shareholding in the new company.

Despite his background in the community game Colm fully embraced the concept of professionalism, and was a loyal and committed follower of the Falcons, attending the majority of matches home and away until illness intervened.

He will be sadly missed by all at the club, and our thoughts are with Colm’s friends and family at this time.
