Community Curtain Raiser: A day to remember
Last Saturday (October 5, 2024) marked a memorable day for the Newcastle Falcons community as over 200 rugby supporters joined us at Kingston Park for an exciting curtain raiser ahead of the Gallagher Premiership tie with Leicester Tigers.
The Counties 3 Durham & Northumberland match between Yarm Rugby and Seaton Carew RUFC showcased the best of local rugby, with Yarm securing a 71-5 win. The real success of the day, however, was the sense of community and shared passion for the sport. Both teams played with heart, whilst their loyal supporters cheered them on in great spirits.
Families, friends, and rugby enthusiasts enjoyed the lively atmosphere, making the day about much more than just the game. The curtain raiser set the stage for an exciting afternoon, leading up to the main event where Newcastle Falcons hosted Leicester Tigers.
On behalf of the whole club, we’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone who joined us, making it a day to remember for all. We look forward to many more moments like this in the future.
