Community Foundation pre-match activity announced
Following an incredibly successful season which saw more junior rugby players than ever before engage in pre-match activities, tournaments and coaching sessions at Kingston Park, Newcastle Falcons Community Foundation are pleased to announce details of their pre-match activities for the coming season.
Featuring opportunities for everyone from Under 7s to Under 16s to get involved, and including the Falcons’ round of the national Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup competition, this season’s activities offer something for everyone when it comes to junior rugby.
Confirmed activities include:
**Sunday 21st September: Under 13 – Under 16 7s Tournament**
Due to the huge popularity of the Premiership 7s and World Club 7s, Newcastle Falcons wanted to include the youth section of local clubs in the 7s action. This festival will be split into under 13,under 14, under 15 and under 16 age groups with each team having the chance to compete against other 7s teams from around the region.
**Sunday 30th November: Under 7 / Under 8 Festival**
This year the under 7s and under 8s festival will be hosted at our game vs Sale Sharks. This will be a standard tag festival format played under Northumberland’s NROP.
**Sunday 1st February: Under 9 / Under 10 Festival**
The under 9 and under 10’s festival is being held at our second home fixture against Sale Sharks, this time in the LV= Cup.
**Sunday 8th March: Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup (Under 11 and Under 12)**
The Newcastle Falcons Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup, an under 11 and under 12 grassroots tournament, will be taking place on Sunday 8th March 2015 at Kingston Park. This grassroots rugby festival is part of a series of nationwide tournaments which provide aspiring young players with the opportunity to showcase their skills, determination and composure whilst playing for the title of Regional Champions, in a fantastically run festival with their local Premiership Rugby club.
The two winning sides will be rewarded with a very special place on the Land Rover Parade of Champions, which will see the youngsters parading in front of a sell-out Twickenham crowd at the Aviva Premiership Rugby Final in May 2015.
