DEAN RICHARDS’ POST MATCH REACTION
Six first half tries from the Exiles did the damage as Richards’ men were condemned to a 40-12 defeat with the gap at the foot of the table now cut to seven points thanks to Worcester Warriors claiming two points at home to Exeter Chiefs on Saturday.
“It was incredible, we lacked composure and intensity,” said Falcons boss Richards.
“Some of our boys thought we are already safe from relegation, we conceded the first three tries through our own mistakes and we were always chasing the game.
“London Irish had nothing to lose, we knew they were going to throw the ball around from the off and we had to cope better than we did.
“I made it pretty clear what I thought at half-time as the boys knew they played badly. In the second half there was a lot of endeavour but we still lacked structure and composure,” he added.
