Deano urges fans to get in quick
A major marketing push has been put in place for the 8pm kick-off, which looks like seeing a biggest home crowd of the season for a Falcons side who have lost only once in the league on home soil this term.
Richards said: “The size of the crowd and the noise that they generate will be a huge boost to the players.
“If it’s not a sell-out it shouldn’t be far off capacity, and the advice really is for people to go and get their tickets quickly if they want to avoid missing out.”
Focused entirely on rugby matters against last season’s Premiership fianlists, the Falcons boss added: “This is a massive week for us, both for the team and the club as a whole.
“In terms of the preparation there will be a couple of the boys who played down at Saracens getting a go, we have a couple of lads coming back and it is all focused on that kick-off at 8 o’clock on Friday.
“Exeter play a very expansive game these days, but we also know their ability to hit hard close to the ruck is well rewarded. We understand exactly what they will bring, and they are a side who have more than one string to their bow. But we will be ready for them.”

As well as top-class Aviva Premiership Rugby there is the BUCS Super Rugby clash between Northumbria University and Hartpury College on the main field from 4.45pm. Post-match there is live music in the West Stand concourse bar plus DJ and karaoke in the Tap & Tackle, and a double dose of Curry Corner with free food in the 1877 Bar and west concourse 30 minutes after the final whistle.
