The latest Falcons Legend to confirm that he will be playing for his old team at this October’s Legends game is former Scotland Lock Doddie Weir.

A familiar face around Kingston Park thanks not only to his on the field exploits but also to his ongoing match day role in the corporate suites and West Stand concourse, Weird played for the Falcons for seven years from 1995, making 97 appearances during that time.

Whilst at the Falcons, Doddie collected a 1997/98 Premiership winners medal and was amongst the Tetley’s Bitter Cup winning team of 2001.

After receiving his first international call up against Argentina in 1990, Weir went on to represent Scotland 61 times, as well as travelling to South Africa as part of the 1997 British and Irish Lions squad.

Returning to the Kingston Park field this October as part of the Falcons Legends team that will face a Southern Hemisphere XV, Weir will link up with a number of former team mates including friend and countryman Gary Armstrong.

Other names already confirmed for the game include Hugh Vyvyan, Tom May, Carlo del Fava, Michael Stephenson, Epi Taione, Marius Hurta and Stefan Treblanche.

The game will take place on the evening of Friday 2nd October with tickets available to order now online, in person from the Kingston Park Stadium Box Office or by calling the Falcons’ 24 hour Ticket Hotline on 0871 226 6060 starting from just £10 for adults and £5 for juniors.
