England Under-20s to play Wales at Kingston Park
The 7.45pm kick-off will be televised live on Sky Sports, with tickets available now for the age-group Six Nations encounter.
England are the reigning Under-20s Six Nations champions after completing a Grand Slam last season, and reached the final of this year’s Junior World Championship in Georgia with Falcons pair Max Davies and Jamie Blamire among their ranks.
England Under-20s head coach Steve Bates, a former Falcons director of rugby, insisted he was looking forward to his Kingston Park return.
He said: “Things have changed since I was there, not least the synthetic pitch, and young players on that surface will really get the speed of the match up which will benefit the game and spectators. Hopefully there be a lot of tries scored.
“My family spent 16 years there and my daughters still refer to it as ‘home’ so it will be nice to go back in a playing capacity, which is exciting.
“With Newcastle Falcons doing so well there will hopefully be a great interest in the young players coming through the pathway. We have some exciting players and a track record of producing full internationals so this is a great opportunity for them to come out and see the future stars of England rugby.”
