This season’s EPCR Challenge Cup sees Newcastle Falcons drawn in a pool with Pau, Montpellier, Dragons, Lions and Ospreys.

The Falcons will play four of those teams during the group stage of the competition, with the opponents and fixtures to be learned at a later date.

This season’s tournament sees a total of 18 teams split into three pools of six.

In the pool stage each team will play four games against four different teams – two at home and two away.

The four highest-ranked teams in each group will progress through to the round of 16, where they are joined by four teams dropping down from the Investec Champions Cup.

One-leg knock-out matches will decide which teams reach the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final, which is being held at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on Friday May 23.

The Gallagher Premiership fixtures will be announced on Tuesday July 23.
