European Draw This Wednesday
This Wednesday Newcastle Falcons will discover their first three European opponents of 2015/16 when the European Challenge Cup takes place in Neuchatel, Switzerland.
Starting at 1.15pm on Wednesday, 17 June, the draw will decide pools for both the European Rugby Challenge and Champions Cups.
Newcastle Falcons will play in the Challenge Cup for the coming season and will be looking to improve on last season’s debut showing in the competition, which saw them end the group stages at the top of their pool before being knocked out in the quarter final of the competition away to Exeter Chiefs.
This season’s competition will see the Falcons face three as yet unnamed opponents during the pool stages.
Potential opponents for the Falcons include Top 14 sides Montpellier, La Rochelle, Brive, Grenoble, Castres Olympique, Pau and Agen as well as Pro 12 teams Connacht, Edinburgh, Cardiff Blues, Zebre Rugby and last season’s European opponents and group runners up Newport Gwent Dragons.
Fellow Aviva Premiership sides in the competition will be Sale Sharks, Harlequins, London Irish, last season’s Challenge Cup champions Gloucester and the newly promoted Worcester Warriors.
Meanwhile Italian side Cammi Rugby Calvisano and Russian team Enisei-STM were the final qualifying teams to be included in the 2015/16 European Challenge Cup.
The 2015/16 European Rugby Challenge Cup draw will be streamed live at [www.epcrugby.com][1] with live commentary available on the @FalconsRugby Twitter feed.
