Excitement already building for Europe and Premiership

The Falcons are playing Heineken Champions Cup rugby for the first time in 14 years following last season’s fourth-placed Premiership finish, and with the final being played at St James’ Park in May 2019 interest in Europe’s elite competition has been further heightened in the region.

Newcastle will learn the identity of their three pool opponents on Wednesday June 20 when the draw takes place in the Swiss city of Lausanne, an event which will be streamed live on the tournament website [**www.epcrugby.com**][1] .

The Falcons will play all three teams home and away during the round-robin phase, with the other teams in the tournament being Leinster, Munster, Ulster, Montpellier, Toulouse, Lyon, Toulon, Racing 92, Castres, Saracens, Exeter, Wasps, Leicester, Bath, Gloucester, Cardiff Blues, Scarlets, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

All three home pool games are included in the 2018-19 season ticket membership package, as are all 11 Gallagher Premiership regular-season home games.

The Gallagher Premiership fixtures will be announced on Friday July 6, with the first league games being played on the weekend of August 31 to September 2.

Falcons players will assemble for the start of pre-season training during the last week of June, the class of 2018-19 having big shoes to fill following the club’s best showing in two decades.

As well as finishing fourth in the Premiership and reaching the semi-finals of both cups, the Falcons also had the Premiership’s player of the season, try of the season, joint top try-scorer and director of rugby of the season.

The club enjoyed two Kingston Park sell-out crowds, their first in more than nine years, in a campaign which saw their home Premiership games drawing an increase of 42% on the average attendance from the previous season.

Even not taking into account the club record crowd of 30,174 from The Big one at St James’ Park the Kingston Park average of 7,875 still saw a 12% rise on the previous year, making a season ticket membership the only way to guarantee your place.

Packages start from just £225 for adults, £195 for concessions and £85 for under-16s, with under-11s going FREE (one per paying adult). Season ticket membership also includes both Premiership Rugby Cup home group games and a pre-season friendly, plus a range of great benefits.
