Extra checks at KP turnstiles
Ahead of the Round Two European Rugby Challenge Cup fixture against Enisei STM on Sunday, Newcastle Falcons would like to notify supporters of additional bag checks that will be undertaken at the Stadium turnstiles.
As of this weekend’s fixture and until further notice, supporters entering into the stadium in possession of rucksacks or other bags may be requested to submit these items for checking by the stadium event security team.
The searches will take place at all turnstiles and will add a small amount of time to that taken to enter the ground by these supporters.
Managing Director Mick Hogan said: “In light of recent events we have taken the decision to introduce random bag checks at the turnstiles on match-days so supporters can enjoy their afternoon at Kingston Park with added peace of mind.”
“After communicating with the Police we believe it prudent to reassure people that a day at Kingston Park Stadium is a safe event.”
“Supporters should consider whether it is absolutely essential that they bring a bag to the match. If so please allow extra time for entry into the Stadium.”
With added checks in place, supporters are reminded that items including cans, glass bottles, sharp implements and fireworks are prohibited from being brought into the ground and will be confiscated if found.
