Falcon Ward scores on England U18s debut
Friday’s game saw club-mate Phil Brantingham (pictured) starting at loose-head prop, and was the opening fixture a schedule which also sees England playing against France on Tuesday and South Africa the following Saturday.
Head coach Jm Mallinder said: “It’s always disappointing to lose, but there was some pretty good play in there.
“For a team that have only just come together, had minimal preparation time to come up against a big and physical Argentina side, who were also a little bit more organised, and perform like we did gives us plenty to build on for the rest of the tour.
“I want the players to learn from this experience and to learn that when you play international rugby at any level you have to be at your very best in all aspects of the game.
“Certain parts of our play, including our attacking play and our clearout was very good and we created quick ball which allowed us to move the Argentineans around but we perhaps didn’t do that enough.”
