FALCONS ‘A’ TEAM TO FACE DURHAM UNIVERSITY

Monday 03 March 2014 Written by: Adam

It has been a while since the Falcons’ second string were in action and the young charges will be hoping to emulate the entertaining first half performance by the first team against Leicester Tigers yesterday in the Aviva Premiership.

The team will be captained from the front by former Durham University student James Hallam, with fellow palatinate Harrison Collins starting in the back-row. The Falcons also welcome new signing and debutant Ian Nagle into the second-row whilst academy player Ben Morris returns for a brief spell from his recent dual registered loan move to Rotherham RFC.

Academy head coach James Ponton was in optimistic mode ahead of the game, saying: “I think it will be a different kind of test today. A lot of our players are used to playing against very structured teams and Durham will definitely pose a different threat with their pace, energy and enthusiasm.”
