Falcons deliver Easter cheer at RVI
Yesterday saw a number of Newcastle Falcons players and staff head to the children’s wards of the RVI to spread Easter spirit and give out chocolate eggs and sweets kindly provided by Barclays.
Adam Powell, Andy Saull, Calum Green, Rob Hawkins, Rory Clegg, Sean Brown, Simon Hammersley and Tom Catterick spent the afternoon working their way around the hospital’s children’s wards speaking with patients and parents and giving out sweets and Falcons gifts.
Representatives from Barclays were also on hand to help raise a smile with additional chocolate eggs and sweets.
Melanie Magee, Head of Community and Marketing at Newcastle Falcons said: “Christmas hospital visits have been an important part of our calendar for some time now but this year thanks to the support from Barclays we were able to expand the programme to include an Easter visit too.
“As always the players really enjoyed their time at the hospital and it was great to be able to raise some smiles amongst patients, parents and staff at the RVI.
“I’d also like to thank all of the staff who helped us yesterday; the hospital was very accommodating and a number of staff gave up their very precious time to show us around.”
