FALCONS DUO SET TO LEAVE
Tu’ifua, 28, has signed a two-year contract with French Top 14 outfit Bordeaux, while Mayhew, 26, has penned a three-year deal with London Irish.
Samoan international Tu’ifua, who has 10 caps to his name, made the switch to Newcastle in November 2011.
Making 33 appearances for the northeasterners including 15 this term, the Pacific Islander said: “I would like to thank everyone at the club for helping me to settle in to life in the North East when I first moved here.
> “I have had a great time up here, and I now want to help the club get
> back up to the Premiership before I leave in the summer.”
Like Tu’ifua, Irish bound Mayhew also joined the Falcons in November 2011, and has made 30 appearances for the Kingston Park club.
The Auckland-born front-rower moved on loan to the exiles in January but was soon recalled to the Falcons fold due to injury.
> “I have really enjoyed my time at Newcastle Falcons,” said Mayhew.
“A move to Irish is the better option for me at this stage in my career,” added the former North Harbour man.
