Newcastle Falcons are joining thousands of people across the country in supporting this year’s Comic Relief appeal, and are asking fans to do the same!

As the nation prepares for Red Nose Day 2015, Falcons staff and players have also been joining in with the fun and fundraising, with a staff bake off to be held at Kingston Park tomorrow and Academy staff and players preparing for a Three Peaks Challenge which will see them raise money for the appeal.

And today, the club has confirmed that a portion of the funds raised by its Rugby World Cup 2015 events later this year will also go directly to the charity.

Now Newcastle Falcons are asking fans to get behind the appeal too and are encouraging them to join in the club’s fundraising efforts and making a donation.

Comic Relief helps to transform the lives of millions of people, both in the UK and across Africa. Since the last Red Nose Day, Comic Relief has spent over £99 million helping over 12 million people across a vast array of projects.

One such project is the Hitz Rugby Programme, which uses rugby to increase young people’s resilience, self-reliance and confidence, and provides them with the skills to get back into education, vocational training, apprenticeships and employment.

You can get involved with Comic Relief by running your own fundraising challenge… there are hundreds of things you can do to raise vital funds for the appeal, from making your face funny for money with red noses and face paints, to doing your own epic challenge and everything in between.
