Falcons Community has had a fantastic 8 weeks running Falcons Fit and celebrates over 60 enthusiastic participants turning up each week, committed to improving their heart health.

Over the past 8 weeks, Falcons Community has worked closely with Heart of Tyne to educate individuals on effective health interventions and lifestyle adjustments to help improve participants’ overall health and well-being.

The programme has consisted of a combination of rugby-themed physical activity, strength and conditioning gym sessions, along with healthy lifestyle workshops. Falcons Community have also encouraged participants to increase their movement by setting weekly step count goals.

Falcons Community have designed Falcons Fit to help increase participant motivation and excitement to continue their own health and fitness journey beyond the 12-week programme.

It was great welcoming Newcastle Falcons Sebastian de Chaves on Week 4 of the programme to deliver a brilliant presentation on goal setting. Sebastian also placed a focus on building successful and sustainable habits that will see participants improve their heart health.

A member of the British Heart Foundation joined the programme on Week 8 to deliver a brilliant CPR training presentation. This presentation demonstrated how to use their RevivR application to learn CPR in just fifteen minutes. For more information about the RevivR application, please click **[HERE][1].

Falcons Fit participant, Stuart Jackson said: “Prior to starting Falcons Fit, I was living quite a sedentary lifestyle, working behind a desk all day. I was unfit and this wasn’t helping my mental wellbeing.

“After 7 weeks of Falcons Fit, I feel a lot fitter and I have lost over a stone in weight which has been fantastic. This has really helped my mental health and I now look forward to doing exercise.”
