FALCONS FOUNDATION LAUNCH SUMMER OF TOUCH
Touch is Rugby’s answer to 5-a-side football – it’s fast, exciting, enjoyable, involves no contact and can be played by both young & old, males & females. Squads are made up of ten players, with 6 on the field of play at any one time. Touch Rugby is such an easy game to play that even if you have never played rugby before you will have no problem picking it up. This year will see 2 weeks of taster sessions to whet the appetite of keen players, players looking for a new team or a team looking a few players to complete their squads. It’s a great way of keeping fit while enjoying an evening in the summer sunshine.
The events start with some fantastic FREE taster sessions on the 1st and 8th May from 18:00 -19:30 held at Kingston Park, this is an opportunity to wet your appetite and learn the basics before getting stuck in to our nine week summer touch league. The league beings on May 15th and runs for nine weeks at Kingston Park from 18:00 – 21:00, the league is always full of high energy and great sportsmanship and its certainly not one to miss out on, for just £200 per team! The culmination of all of this summer rugby comes in the Touch Festival held on Tynemouth beach on 28th July from 10:30 until 16:00. The beach provides the back drop for an incredible day of rugby in a spectacular one day festival all for only £40.
In addition to these opportunities we have a one day corporate touch festival scheduled for August (date TBC). This one day festival is an excellent opportunity for rugby fans to put a company team together and pit their skills against the North East’s finest, at £75 per team, it’s a steal!
