Falcons go back to their roots with European shirt
The ISC Sport kit will be worn for the first time during Saturday’s European Challenge Cup visit of Dragons, and will be available for supporters to buy from Saturday onwards at the Kingston Park club shop.
The green and white hoops of Durham School were adopted as the original colours of Gosforth FC when the club was founded back in 1877 by a group of Durham School old boys.
Worn for well over a century prior to the onset of professionalism and the club’s re-birth as Newcastle Falcons, the iconic hoops will return for this season’s European campaign in a design which incorporates the ‘1877’ logo.
Available in-store but with limited numbers, the shirt is priced £49.99 for adults and £39.99 for children.
This will be accompanied by a long-sleeve cotton heritage shirt, also in green and white hoops and available from the Kingston Park club shop from Saturday priced £49.99 for men’s and ladies sizes, and £39.99 for children’s.
The heritage shirt is part of a wider 1877 range which will see more products added throughout the season, supporters being advised that for the time being both shirts are strictly limited in numbers.
