Coca Cola Zero ParkLives is a new long term programme of fun and free activities in parks across Newcastle.

The programme aims to encourage people to be more physically active and includes sessions people of all ages and abilities including everything from Zumba to Tai Chi. The Programme is open to anyone and everyone, encouraging people who are not currently active to get out into their local parks and try something new.

During its first year the Newcastle leg of the programme will see events taking place in Elswick, Gosforth, Ouseburn, Blakelaw, Hodgkin and Tyne Riverside parks, with activities already underway in all locations.

Within the programme Newcastle Falcons will be delivering fun, rugby based sessions in the following locations:

Paddy Freeman’s Park Tuesday 5pm – 6pm Meet at the Rugby Posts
Heaton Park Tuesday 5pm – 6pm Meet outside Sambuca’s
Elswick Park Thursday 5pm – 6pm Meet outside the Pool

Seam Shaw-Kew, Hitz Project Officer for Newcastle Falcons Community Foundation said; “ParkLives provides a great opportunity for us to make rugby accessible to those people who have barriers to joining an organised session or club. People can just turn up and play and have a bit of fun at no cost and without any hassle.

“The aim of the sessions is to get active but to have fun while we do it, so our sessions will focus on simple games that don’t require loads of rugby skills or knowledge. If you or someone you know would like to get more active take a look at the website for what is on offer around Newcastle.”
