Falcons hit social media milestone

Earlier this weekend Newcastle Falcons celebrated hitting a huge milestone as the club reached an impressive 20,000 likes on Facebook.

Since originally joining the social media site in 2011, the Falcons have seen their [Facebook][1] following go from strength to strength and this most recent flurry of likes suggests that number will continue to grow.

Newcastle Falcons also maintain an official presence on Twitter, where the [@FalconsRugby][2] account has just under 19,000 followers, and YouTube, as well as their own official mobile app which is free to download for both iOS and Android devices, and the club recognises the increasing importance of social media for engaging with fans both new and old.

With this in mind, the club continues to ask fans to help promote the upcoming Bring the Noise game against Gloucester this Friday (21st November, ko 8pm).

Newcastle Falcons Managing Director Mick Hogan said: “It’s great to see so many fans engaging with Newcastle Falcons over social media channels. Like many organisations out there we’re working hard on the way we use those channels to ensure that both we and our fans are getting the most benefit possible from them.

“The challenge now is to encourage as many of those followers and likers as possible to come along to Kingston Park and support the team in person. And what better time to do that than for this Friday’s Bring the Noise game?”

Newcastle Falcons is asking fans to retweet, share and like posts across the various social media channels in order to help spread the word and encourage as many people as possible to come along to Friday’s game and join attempts to set a record for the world’s loudest club rugby crowd.

Over the coming week, the Falcons will be running a number of competitions and other promotions across social media to encourage fans to get involved and help Bring the Noise.

Tickets are still available for Friday’s game, starting from only £15 for adults and £7.50 for juniors. For more information or to get yours click [here][3] or call the Falcons’ 24 hour Ticket Hotline on 0871 226 6060.
