FALCONS HOST LARGEST FESTIVAL AT KP

Tuesday 09 April 2013 Written by: Adam

75 teams took part in the festival from under-7s to under-10s age groups, and **Falcons TV** was on hand to bring you all the action from Falcons HQ.

The West Pitch staged the under-7s and under-10s competition, whilst the under-8s and under-9s made the most of the Bullocksteads facility.

With over 140 fixtures played on the day, the budding young stars of the future did well to keep up their enthusiasm and energy, making for some fantastic rugby.

The festival could not have gone ahead without the fantastic efforts of the volunteers who worked tirelessly as pitch marshals, referees and referee co-ordinators on the day to make sure everything ran smoothly and on time. The club would like to extend a huge thank you to all those who gave up their time to help out.

From 11am until 2pm the teams played their hearts out and enjoyed a fine day with refreshments provided in the West Stand concourse. All teams were provided with a goodie bag containing certificates of participation, a signed shirt and a sign-up form for the Junior Supporters Club, the flock.

Overall the team presented with the trophy from the under-10’s group were Northern, while Durham City were runners-up. The under-9’s victors were Northern with Tynedale runners-up . While in both the under-8’s and under-7’s Novos took home the cup and Northern took the shield.

Congratulations to all those who took part and we look forward to welcoming you to Kingston Park for our game against Bristol on April 20.
